The Labour Court recommended that McKeon Stone Limited and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union discuss arrangements for outstanding phases of a pay supplement, taking account of the company’s financial position. The recommendation was dated 28 October 1993. The Court found the parties had agreed to the supplement and said it should not be withdrawn. The union sought the third phase of the Programme for Economic and Social Progress retrospectively from 1 April 1993; the company said it could not afford the payments.
