The Labour Court recommended against the Southern Health Board Ambulance Personnel’s claim for compensation over roster changes linked to a 39-hour week. The recommendation was dated 4 November 1992. The workers said the new roster meant five extra weekends and additional public holidays at work without compensation. The Board said nationally agreed weekend and public holiday payments covered the changes and the roster package improved the service and added permanent jobs. The Court did not recommend concession of the claim.
