The Labour Court recommended that Kilkenny County Council water and sewerage caretakers accept the Council’s latest travel-rate offer and log their mileage for 12 months. The recommendation was dated 4 November 1992. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union also sought set daily core hours and mileage-based allowances for 18 caretakers. The Court found no basis to recommend concession of the core-hours claim. After a year of mileage records, the union could resubmit its travel-rate claim.
