The Labour Court recommended that Services Industrial Professional Technical Union accept Waterford Foods PLC (Inch Area)’s proposed changes to milk collection and the introduction of data capture and fresh milk sampling. The recommendation was dated 16 December 1991. The union raised concerns about projected earnings, milk supplies, terrain, road-law compliance and protection against redundancy. The Court noted that the changes would not cause redundancies and that two part-time employees would become full-time. It also noted the company’s promise to review the impact after a year and said legal requirements would have to be met.
