The Labour Court recommended that the Irish Transport And General Workers' Union accept Vita Cortex’s 3% basic wage increase offer for 12 clerical employees. The recommendation was signed on 17 December 1987. The union sought the 27th wage-round terms agreed for production employees, including an extension of their factory bonus scheme. The Court did not recommend extending the scheme to clerical staff. It recommended that the union accept the company’s 3% offer, a further 1% from 1 December 1987 for cooperation on investigating an in-house computerised accounting system, and another 1% when the system was in place.
