WRC recommends no further action on cleaner’s disputes over wages and duties

The WRC recommended that an employer take no further action on a cleaner’s disputes over wages and duties. The recommendation was dated 27 January 2025. The worker said he was short 40 hours’ pay and had been transferred after refusing duties outside his role. The employer said he had no shifts from November 2022 to May 2023 because his work visa had expired. The WRC found he had not used the grievance procedure before resigning, leaving the matters unresolved.
