The Labour Court upheld the Adjudication Officer’s decision after Helen Guerin’s appeal over claimed unpaid wages, holiday and public holiday pay, and statutory notice pay failed. The Court’s decision is dated 23 February 2026. Guerin, who worked part-time in the accounts department at Manor Stone Quarries Ltd (In Receivership), said she was owed €2,620.83. The company did not appear at the appeal hearing. The Court said an application to the Social Insurance Fund by the appropriate employer representative had to come before a complaint could be referred to the WRC. Guerin said the Department of Social Protection told her no such application had been made on her behalf, so the required condition had not been met.
