The Labour Court affirmed the Adjudication Officer’s decision after Ms Linda O’Regan’s appeal under the Protection of Employees (Fixed-Term Work) Act failed. The decision was dated 12 December 2023. At the hearing, both O’Regan and the Health Service Executive (HSE South) agreed that she was not a fixed-term worker within the meaning of the Act. The Court said the appeal could not succeed because no matter before it concerned a worker who had been a fixed-term worker at any relevant time.
