Labour Court dismisses Tim Desmond’s fixed-term work appeal

The Labour Court dismissed Tim Desmond’s appeal against the rejection of his fixed-term work complaint against Rehab Group Trading As Rehabcare. The determination was dated 19 November 2019. Desmond said he was treated less favourably because he was a fixed-term worker, citing exclusion from team meetings and not being sent for external training. The Court found meeting attendance depended on the number of houses covered, and Desmond had not linked the training decision to his fixed-term status. The Adjudication Officer’s decision was affirmed.
