Labour Court rejects Adrian Doroghi’s appeal over working-time complaint

The Labour Court rejected Adrian Doroghi’s appeal on 25 February 2025, upholding the decision that his complaint over alleged unpaid entitlements under the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997 had named the wrong employer. Doroghi had worked for Synergy Security Solutions Limited until his employment transferred to another company on 1 March 2023. He argued that liabilities for entitlements he had sought before the transfer remained with his former employer; the company said the complaint should have been brought against the transferee. The Court found that employment-related liabilities passed to the transferee and did not decide the underlying working-time complaint.
