WRC rejects Felician Ionel Coser’s claim for statutory redundancy payment

Felician Ionel Coser was refused a statutory redundancy payment after the Workplace Relations Commission found he had not been laid off for four consecutive weeks when he gave notice seeking payment. The decision was dated 26 May 2026. The WRC found Asendia Ltd t/a Cascade Group’s counter-notice complied with the law. Coser said he refused its offer to return to his job on the same terms because he had taken another, better-paid job. The adjudicator found it unreasonable to refuse the offer, so Coser was not entitled to redundancy payment.
