The Workplace Relations Commission directed Abdelaziz Ahmed and Zainab Ali to pay Alessandra Vaz Feliciano €5,655.67 in minimum-wage arrears, €2,500 in reasonable expenses, €641.60 for annual leave and €1,917 for failing to provide written employment terms. Adjudication Officer Pat Brady dated the decision 30 July 2026.
Feliciano worked as a live-in au pair and domestic operative. She said she worked additional childcare and household hours beyond those agreed and was not given proper annual leave or written terms. The WRC found she was an employee and upheld the minimum-wage, annual-leave and written-terms complaints. It found the Payment of Wages complaint, brought in the alternative, not well founded, and the separate breaks complaint out of time. The respondents did not attend the hearing, though they had been sent notice and submissions.
