The Workplace Relations Commission has ordered Aspenvale Limited, trading as The Cake Café, to pay Vedrana Miskic €3,762 for harassment over her accent and €3,762 for failing to provide her core employment terms within five days of starting work. The decision is dated 1 May 2026. Miskic also alleged discriminatory remarks about black people and the removal of Pride flags. The WRC found insufficient evidence to uphold those parts of her complaint. It found she was dismissed, but rejected her complaint that the dismissal was for a discriminatory reason or for opposing discrimination. Aspenvale denied the discrimination allegations and said Miskic was responsible for preparing employees’ five-day statements.
