The Workplace Relations Commission found William Shorten’s Equal Status complaint against Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council was not well founded. No award was recorded. Shorten said he was not told when buying an apartment in 2008 that the sale was directly from a developer. He linked the dispute to later defects and management fees. The Council denied discrimination and victimisation. Adjudication officer Monica Brennan found Shorten had identified no alleged discriminatory act within the relevant time limit and established no facts from which discrimination or victimisation could be inferred.
