The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Gdp Transport Ltd to pay Keith McCann €1,112 compensation for failing to provide required employment statements and €556 net compensation for dismissing him without the required notice, in a decision dated 30 January 2026. McCann said he did not receive a five-day statement or a complete contract within one month, and was dismissed without notice. GDP Transport’s representative said he thought McCann’s service was too short for notice and acknowledged he might not have received a contract. The WRC found both complaints well founded; the statements award compensates for a statutory-right breach, not unpaid wages.
