The Workplace Relations Commission awarded chef Alex Timms €2,115.38 on each of three complaints against Sam Catering Ltd t/a The Thatch Pub. The WRC decision was dated 2 April 2026. The decision also awarded three weeks’ remuneration for a fourth complaint about written employment terms, without stating a euro amount. Timms said he was owed wages and payment for unused annual leave and five public holidays after working at the pub in Co Laois. He also said the employer did not give him a written statement of his terms despite repeated requests. The respondent did not attend either hearing. The adjudicator upheld all four complaints. The wage complaint concerned €1,327.69 gross in alleged unpaid wages, while the award was described in the decision as net compensation. For the written-terms complaint, the adjudicator said Timms had been unaware of his terms and that a requested contract had not been provided.
