WRC declines to hear Lindsay Dicken’s discrimination and penalisation complaints

The Workplace Relations Commission found it had no authority to adjudicate Lindsay Dicken’s discrimination complaints and a penalisation complaint against Velocity Ehs Ireland because they were out of time, in a decision dated 10 October 2025. It also could not consider a discriminatory dismissal claim concerning his redundancy because an unfair dismissal case over the same termination was already before the WRC. Dicken alleged discrimination, harassment, victimisation and penalisation, including unequal treatment over promotion and retaliation linked to complaints. The company denied the allegations. The adjudication officer found the discrimination allegations related mainly to events between October 2023 and August 2024, and declined to extend the time limit.
