The Workplace Relations Commission found Edward McDonagh’s Payment of Wages Act complaint against Poundland Limited not well-founded in a decision dated 27 November 2025. McDonagh said repeated late wage payments caused financial hardship and sought compensation for the resulting losses. The Adjudication Officer found that by the hearing McDonagh had received his outstanding wages, expenses and holiday pay. The requested compensation was for consequential losses, which the Officer found fell outside the Act’s scope. No award was recorded.
