WRC rejects Fiona Reade’s redundancy payment complaint

The Workplace Relations Commission rejected Fiona Reade’s redundancy payment complaint against Eric Furey, trading as Roots Café, Treebase Cafes, Willow Essentials and Rafterys Bar, finding she did not have the required service. Adjudication Officer Conor Stokes dated the decision 24 September 2025. Reade said she qualified based on more than two years working for the owner across different businesses and locations. The respondent’s witness said she lacked the required weeks. The officer found that although she worked for the same owner, she had not accumulated enough insurable weeks to qualify.
