WRC finds in favour of transport company in bus driver’s locker-pay dispute

The WRC found in favour of a transport company in a bus driver’s dispute over backdating compensation for not having a locker. Adjudication Officer Peter O'Brien dated the recommendation on 24 September 2025. The worker sought to backdate to 2021 a payment made under a 2024 industrial-relations agreement. The WRC found that a recommendation on the substantive pay and hours issue could affect at least eight and possibly up to 50 workers, and that it was excluded by law from making one. It also noted that the worker had not used the internal grievance procedure. The recommendation found no justification for the complaint and in favour of the employer.
