WRC awards worker €1,201.26 over missing written terms

The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Ap Haslam to pay Jose Tomas Sierralta Madriz €1,201.26 after upholding his complaint over missing written terms of employment. The decision by Adjudication Officer John Harraghy was dated 9 October 2025. Sierralta Madriz said he expected a contract and had made repeated requests but received no compliant statement of his terms. Ap Haslam accepted that it had not issued written terms within a month of his start date, and said it had tried to resolve the matter. The adjudication officer found a contravention and considered those efforts when setting compensation at two weeks’ full-time remuneration.
