The Workplace Relations Commission upheld Vanessa Corral’s victimisation complaint against Generator Properties Dublin Ltd and directed the hostel operator to ensure its public-facing staff had undergone or were scheduled for training on rights under the Equal Status Acts. Adjudication Officer Monica Brennan dated the decision 15 May 2026. The WRC found the operator refused to extend Corral’s stay after she reported alleged sexual harassment by another guest and accepted her evidence that the refusal followed her opposition to unlawful conduct.

Corral said staff initially dismissed her report and would not let her extend her stay. The operator argued that it had offered to speak to the other guest or move Corral to another room. The WRC found her gender and race discrimination complaints were not well-founded because she had not shown less favourable treatment than a comparator. It ordered no compensation; Corral later extended her stay for two nights.
