The WRC directed a shop owner to pay a shop manager €1,538.97 in unpaid wages and €1,025.98 for minimum notice. Adjudication Officer Eileen Campbell dated the decision 3 July 2025. The respondent did not attend the hearing. The manager said he worked in December 2024 without receiving his wages and was told to stop working without notice. The employer had told the WRC the wages were being held while the manager was under Garda investigation for alleged theft; the manager said Gardaí had not contacted him. The WRC found the wages were properly payable and unpaid. It also found that, after more than two years’ service, the manager was entitled to two weeks’ notice, which the employer had not provided.
