The Workplace Relations Commission ordered National Agrochemicals Distributors Ltd to pay Richard Lynch €10,500 compensation for untaken annual leave after his employment ended. The decision, dated 12 September 2025, upheld his complaint under the Organisation of Working Time Act but rejected his separate Payment of Wages Act complaint.

Lynch said business demands prevented him from taking leave accrued between 2019 and 2023, and that he had discussed carrying it over with his manager. The company relied on a contract requiring leave to be taken within each January-to-December leave year. The adjudication officer found the company had not shown due diligence in enabling Lynch to take his leave, and that his statutory leave right remained in place when he resigned.
