The Workplace Relations Commission found David Tyrrell’s disability discrimination complaint against North Link M1 Ltd not well founded in a decision dated 1 May 2025. No award was recorded. Tyrrell alleged that an automated toll barrier failed to open, delaying him, and that staff treated him derogatorily and disclosed his exemption status to his passenger. North Link M1 said its system misread a registration digit and its guidance encouraged drivers with exemption discs to use a manned lane. The adjudication officer accepted that the registration was misread and found the manned-lane guidance was intended to accommodate disabled drivers. The officer concluded Tyrrell had not established adverse treatment because of disability.
