The Workplace Relations Commission directed CBTax to pay former technical consultant Evan Verveen €200 for notice pay and €825 for holiday pay. Its decision, dated 15 May 2025, deemed his Payment of Wages Act complaint well founded. Verveen said the chief executive agreed he would receive a week's notice pay and that holiday pay remained due. CBTax argued he had left without working notice and that alleged absences meant no holiday pay was owed. The adjudicator noted Verveen had worked for 10 weeks, below the statutory 13-week qualifying period for minimum notice, and made an ex gratia notice payment after hearing conflicting evidence. The adjudicator also found that deductions from accrued holiday pay required prior discussion and agreement.
