The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Solarstream Limited to pay Michael Bates for 15 days of accrued annual leave. The decision, dated 27 March 2025, upheld that part of his Payment of Wages Act complaint but rejected his claims for a fourth week of notice pay and one week in arrears. Bates claimed 20 days of accrued leave. The WRC found that 13 days had been carried forward from 2023 without a warning that they would be forfeited, and offset a one-week overpayment against the leave due. Solarstream had said Bates was entitled to two weeks’ notice under his contract and accepted that three days of leave pay were due.
