The Workplace Relations Commission directed Gerard Luskin t/a Luskins Bistro to pay Partick Joseph Doyle €1,569.36 for three weeks of unpaid notice. In a decision dated 1 May 2025, it also allowed Doyle’s appeal against the denial of redundancy pay, finding the restaurant’s closure made him redundant. Doyle said he received one week’s notice and was owed a further three weeks. The adjudicator found he was entitled to four weeks’ notice after more than seven years’ service and that three weeks remained unpaid. Both complaints were found well founded; the redundancy payment was subject to the relevant insurable-employment requirement, and no euro amount was stated for it.
