The Workplace Relations Commission found it had no jurisdiction to investigate Fiona Franklin’s unfair dismissal complaint against Taoglas Ltd, after a mediation agreement signed by both parties was found to be binding. The decision was dated 12 January 2026. Franklin said she was pressured during mediation to sign the agreement and resign or face dismissal. Taoglas Ltd argued that signing the agreement barred further legal action. The adjudication officer found the agreement had been concluded under section 39 of the Workplace Relations Act 2015 and could not be reviewed or set aside. The WRC made no finding on whether the dismissal was unfair.
