WRC upholds dismissal over two bottles of wine

The Workplace Relations Commission found David White’s dismissal fair after he took two bottles of a client’s wine without permission. In a decision dated 1 September 2025, adjudication officer Davnet O’Driscoll rejected his unfair dismissal complaint against Imac Facilities Gormanston Park. White accepted taking the bottles and argued dismissal was too severe; the company said the conduct breached its rules and undermined trust. The WRC found the disciplinary process mostly fair and the dismissal reasonable.
