WRC rejects eBay worker’s constructive dismissal complaint

The Workplace Relations Commission found a constructive dismissal complaint against Ebay Europe Services Limited not well-founded in a decision dated 8 May 2025. No award was made. Eanna Donoghue alleged he had no option but to resign after receiving a written warning, citing treatment by managers and lack of career progression. The company denied constructive dismissal and said he resigned voluntarily without first using available procedures. The adjudicator found the evidence did not show company conduct that left Donoghue with no option but to resign. She also noted he had not raised a grievance before leaving, so the employer had no opportunity to address his concerns.
