The Workplace Relations Commission found Andrew Whelan’s complaint against Aer Lingus Limited not well founded, dismissing his claim for €4,800 in retrospective pilot pay. In a decision dated 3 December 2024, the WRC said the claim was outside the six-month time limit. Aer Lingus argued the pay recommendation did not cover former employees; the officer also said the claimed increases would not qualify as wages properly payable even if the complaint had been timely.
