The Workplace Relations Commission found Michael Lucey's annual-leave and equal-pay complaints against Access Engineering Ltd not well founded. A third complaint, about minimum notice, was out of time. The decision is dated 2 September 2025. Lucey said annual leave accrued while he was on certified sick leave after a road traffic accident in 2021. The WRC found he had not provided medical certificates after February 2022 to support accrual, and that the earlier period claimed was out of time. He also sought €2,145 for 17 public holidays from December 2021 to June 2023, but the decision says that request was not a complaint referred to the WRC and was not considered further. Lucey alleged that age explained why a colleague in a general operative role was paid more. The company said the colleague had more experience, was willing to work outside Dublin and would work overtime. The WRC accepted those reasons and found Lucey had not shown age was a factor in the pay difference. His minimum-notice complaint concerned the end of his employment in November 2022; the WRC found it was filed outside the statutory time limit.
