The Workplace Relations Commission found David McEvoy’s complaint against the HSE not well founded in a decision dated 20 February 2026. No award was recorded. The HSE had deducted €215 per fortnight from January to May 2024 to recover allowances it said had been paid in error. McEvoy alleged the deductions were unlawful but accepted they were recouping an overpayment. The WRC found that the Payment of Wages Act provision cited did not apply to reimbursement of wage overpayments.
