WRC awards Mykhailo Bovkun €1,638 over late employment terms

The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Morbiz Ltd trading as Charlestown Lodge to pay Mykhailo Bovkun €1,638 after upholding his complaint that required employment terms were not provided on time. Adjudication officer Gráinne Quinn issued the decision dated 27 January 2025. The WRC rejected Bovkun’s race discrimination complaint, which alleged that he was paid less than colleagues despite doing comparable work. The company denied discrimination and said pay differences reflected workers’ skills, experience, qualifications and duties. His unfair dismissal claim was outside the WRC’s jurisdiction because he had not completed 12 months’ service.
