The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Izabela Bielinska T/A Piece of Cake to pay Martyna Szalaty €474.75 net in unpaid holiday pay. The decision was dated 7 August 2024. Szalaty’s claim concerned holiday pay owed when her employment ended after the café closed. The parties had agreed to deduct €350 for a wedding cake from the outstanding holiday pay calculated on her final payslip. The respondent did not attend the hearing. The adjudicator found the complaint well founded and reduced the amount by €3 to account for deductions inferred from gross and net pay.
