WRC rejects housing assistance discrimination complaint against landlord

The Workplace Relations Commission rejected Silke Dahms’s complaint that landlord Evgenia Anikina McCabe discriminated against her on the housing assistance ground by refusing to complete a HAP form and later serving a notice to end her tenancy. Adjudication Officer Catherine Byrne’s decision was dated 6 November 2025. McCabe said she and her family planned to move into the house after deciding to sell the pub where they lived. The adjudicator accepted that as a legitimate reason for the notice and found no connection with Dahms’s HAP application. The complaint was not well-founded.
