The Workplace Relations Commission found Linda Byrne’s unfair dismissal complaint against Allied Irish Banks plc not well founded, after deciding that she had named the wrong respondent. The decision was dated 13 August 2024. Byrne told the WRC that Bidvest Noonan employed and paid her and that she had named AIB by mistake. AIB said it had no employment relationship with her and that Bidvest Noonan employed her as a contractor’s worker. The adjudication officer found Byrne was not employed by AIB. No award was recorded.
