The Workplace Relations Commission found Gerard Nolan was not made redundant by Icds Constructors Ltd and awarded no payment. The decision was dated 13 August 2024. Nolan said he believed he had been made redundant. The company said he had been temporarily laid off between contracts and had taken other work rather than return. The WRC found the company intended a temporary lay-off and continued to offer him work. Nolan found full-time work elsewhere and had not shown that he gave written notice of an intention to claim redundancy after the lay-off period.
