WRC rejects Deborah Ward’s seven employment complaints as out of time

The Workplace Relations Commission found it had no jurisdiction over seven complaints by Deborah Ward against The Mater Private Network because they were referred more than 12 months after the alleged contraventions. The decision was dated 28 January 2025. The claims concerned alleged wage deductions, unfair dismissal, employment information, discrimination, an employment permit issue and transfer-of-undertakings rights. Ward said she believed grievances to the employer and her union had also been referred to the WRC; the adjudicator said the claims before her were the ones lodged with the WRC. The underlying allegations were not substantively determined.
