The Workplace Relations Commission found Sarah Cavanagh’s pregnancy discrimination complaint was out of time and said it had no jurisdiction to hear it. The merits were not decided. Cavanagh said her fixed-term hair stylist contract was not renewed because she was pregnant and that she was treated less favourably than employees who were not pregnant. The Style Chair Ltd said the contract expired and cited business needs, absences and performance. The WRC dated its decision 8 November 2024.
