The Workplace Relations Commission rejected Tomislav Orecic’s complaints that Occipital Ltd discriminated against him because of his civil status and victimised him. The decision, dated 28 March 2025, made no award. Orecic alleged he was denied training and extra shifts because he was married, and that a workplace investigation and suspension followed his grievance. Occipital Ltd denied discrimination and said reduced business activity affected training and extra shifts. The adjudicator found no evidence linking the alleged treatment to Orecic’s marital status; his proposed comparator was also married. The adjudicator also found the investigation concerns were not linked to a protected complaint.
