The Workplace Relations Commission found that Michael McGuire was not penalised for seeking minimum wage pay, and ruled his complaint was not well-founded. The decision was dated 26 June 2024. McGuire said he had sought higher pay and was later left without work. Castlegale Electrical Limitede said the work was drying up and McGuire was not replaced after leaving. The adjudicator accepted that the work was ending and found that McGuire had not received his basic statutory minimum wage entitlement, but concluded that he was not dismissed or penalised for exercising or proposing to exercise his rights under the Act.
