The Workplace Relations Commission found that Dehac Retail, trading as Costcutter Rathfarnham, met its legal duty to notify Amanda Clarke Butler of a change to her working hours. The decision, dated 9 August 2024, concerned a shift from 6am–2pm to 7am–3pm. The adjudication officer found that an earlier WhatsApp message did not clearly explain that Butler’s own hours would change. However, the employer’s written notice on the day the change took effect satisfied the law. The complaint was declared not well founded. The law did not require Butler’s agreement to the change.
