The Workplace Relations Commission rejected two complaints by Irish Prison Service prison officer Rolf Zoschke, who alleged unlawful deductions of €1,565 and €6,079 from his wages. In a decision dated 28 November 2024, adjudicator Emer O'Shea found the amounts were not shown to be wages properly payable to him. Zoschke said payslip entries suggested the deductions had been made and argued that their nature and amounts had not been explained. The Irish Prison Service said the entries were calculations and corrections, and that no money had been deducted. The adjudicator accepted the Service’s explanation and found both complaints not well founded. No award was made.
