The Workplace Relations Commission found all three of Piotr Sudak’s complaints well-founded after Premier Signs Ltd stopped trading. The decision, dated 5 April 2024, ordered the company to pay him €1,830 for unpaid final-week wages, annual leave and overtime, and €1,216 for two weeks’ notice. Sudak worked as a sign maker from 7 September 2020 until the company ceased trading on 13 November 2023. He said he was owed his final week’s wages, accrued holiday pay, overtime, notice and redundancy. The company had acknowledged owing the outstanding sums but did not attend the hearing. The WRC also found Sudak entitled to a statutory redundancy payment based on his service and gross weekly pay of €608. A statutory redundancy payment is calculated using service and pay; the decision gives no lump-sum figure for this entitlement.
WRC awards Piotr Sudak €1,830 for unpaid wages and €1,216 in notice pay
