WRC complaint against Sse Airtricity ruled out on time limit

The Workplace Relations Commission found it had no jurisdiction to hear Mr Francis Xavier Muldowney’s disability discrimination complaint against Sse Airtricity because it was statute-barred. The decision was dated 11 July 2024. Muldowney said he needed written information because of difficulty understanding verbal information. Sse Airtricity denied discrimination and argued that the claim was out of time. The WRC said it had no jurisdiction to consider the alleged earlier treatment because it found no prohibited act within the period it could examine. The merits were not decided.
