The Workplace Relations Commission found Chloe Hick’s wage complaint against MBCC Foods Ireland, trading as Costa Coffee, not well founded after she did not attend the hearing. The decision was dated 23 September 2024. Hick alleged that €1,141.07 in wages had been withheld; the company said the payment due had been made and no further wages were owed. The decision said Hick knew the hearing details, but did not attend, seek an adjournment or later explain her absence. The complaint failed because she did not attend to pursue it; the merits were not decided. No compensation was recorded.
