The Workplace Relations Commission upheld six complaints by delivery driver Ion Girbu against Jayden & Preston Limited t/a Parcel-King, including claims over unpaid wages, annual leave, breaks and minimum pay. Adjudication Officer Elizabeth Spelman’s decision was dated 26 November 2025. The WRC directed payments of approximately €1,000 for missing core employment terms, failure to notify Girbu of road-transport working rules, and failure to provide breaks. It also awarded two separate €1,000 amounts for annual-leave loss and breach of statutory rights, €1,000 for unpaid wages, and €729.30 in minimum-wage arrears. Two other complaints were not well founded: one about receiving a written statement within a month and another about maximum working hours. The adjudicator said the relevant period for the hours claim did not meet the required reference period. Girbu said he worked long days as a driver and received no breaks. The respondent did not attend the final hearing, though the adjudicator found it had been notified.
