WRC finds Alona Yubele’s pay and contract complaints not well founded

The Workplace Relations Commission found Alona Yubele’s pay and contract-information complaints against Onsite Facilities Management Ltd. not well founded in a decision dated 18 December 2023. Yubele said she was underpaid €3,272.48 because her hourly rate should have been €15.30 rather than €15.06. She also said she was not clearly notified in writing of a change to her wages. The company said her pay followed a 2018 agreement made with her union representative and that the increase appeared on her payslips. It accepted that the increase was not included in an updated contract. The adjudicator found Yubele had attended the meeting at which the 2018 agreement was made. The findings say the contract-information complaint was outside the six-month time limit and that the adjudicator had no jurisdiction to decide it, though the operative decision found both complaints not well founded.
